Exeter to Worthing

According to Andrew, Justine and I only just woke up in time this morning. However, with our sixth sense we knew that the train would be delayed by half an hour, so really, we were at St David’s station early. It was an almost teary farewell as we said goodbye to Andrew and Maria before getting on the train to take us to Westbury.

It was a lovely day of waiting in the cold for more trains and considering whether or not we were running late enough to warrant the railway calling a taxi. We managed to get on the train to Southampton, before changing for the train to West Worthing. There, after five hours of travelling, we were met by Aunty Carol who helped us haul the (apparently gigantic) suitcase to the car.

When we got to Carol’s we were met by a very excited Page, Carol’s most recent guide dog puppy who is six months old. She’s a bit different from Cheza; when she jumps on you she can actually reach your face to lick it! At about 5.30 we met Nicola at her house after she had finished work. We were cooked traditional chilli and were able to do another load of washing!

After dinner Nicola had choir, Page was off for a sleepover and Carol went back around the corner to her house so we were left to our own devices. There we learnt how to use Nicola’s strange sit down shower, and watched the last episode of Midsomer Murders that has John Nettles as Inspector Barnaby. It was interesting to watch the difference in adverts from here to Australia, and relaxing just to be able to sit back and watch TV like at home.
