Paris to London to Exeter

We got a bit of a sleep in today, which was good because we also needed to pack our suitcases. We just checked out of the hotel at 11am before catching a taxi to Gare du Nord for our Eurostar train that afternoon. We ate some lunch at the station and before I left Europe I was able to have my first taste of Häagan-Dazs ice cream, something Justine will no doubt miss when we’re back home. It was a lovely travel day on the train as I slept through the tunnel once again.

We were fortunate enough to be met at St Pancras by Andrew, my Mum’s cousin and also our next point of call. He’d driven his mother Aunty Pat to Heathrow that morning as she went to Australia (trying to get away from us no doubt!) and had offered to stay around to drive us to Exeter, rather than us catching a train. The car was very much appreciated, especially with our extra Disneyland Paris luggage.

After some trialing navigation out of London we were onto the Motorway and arrived in Exeter around dinner time. We were met by Maria who came out of the house to greet us, and also Cheza who seemed very excited to have visitors. Maria had made us lasagna, and it was amazing to have a home cooked meal and salad again. We stumbled up the stairs with the case and prepared our double bed with our toys. Then it was a quiet night watching TV before talking to Mum on Skype and heading off to bed.
